Chilaquiles Recipe: Another Receta Fantástica from Sandrita

Aquí está otra receta favorita de mi marido, es halgo muy fácil y barrato para preparar.

Chilaquiles

1 paquete de tortillas de maiz (30 count)
1 cebolla grande
2 chiles jalapeños
5 chiles japoneses (si te gusta picoso)
2 roma tomatoes
1 small clove of ajo (garlic)
4 tomatillos (green tomatoes)
2 cups cooking oil

Slice the tortillas into four sections (triangles) and place in frying pan full of hot oil. Deep fry all triangles and drain each and place in a big bowl.

Cut onion into eight sections and cut tomatoes in half, put jalapenos (whole) in blender with tomatoes, onion, tomatillos, chiles japoneses, clove of garlic and salt and pepper to taste. add 1/4 of water. Blend these ingredients well.

Drain pan of oil, leaving only about 1 teaspoon in pan and place burner on high. pour in salsa and let bubble, slowly add your homemade tortilla chips and let soak in salsa. Don't let them get too soggy! Then turn off stove and enjoy with sour cream!

BONUS: my kids love to eat the chips sprinkles with grated cheese and lightly salted. ¡Buen Provecho!

Great recipe, will take to UK London, where my Daughter lives.

She yearns for mexican home cooked meals. We take corn tortillas can not find them in London.
