There are a lot more Spanish speakers than you'd think up there, as well as some great Mexican restaurants. This week we tackle another intermediate grammar concept: the imperfect subjunctive.

If This Were to Happen...The Imperfect Subjunctive

This tense works hand in hand with another tense we'll look at next week called the conditional, in order to create situations that can be characterized by “if this, then that.” For example, if I were a bird,I would fly." The first part you need to learn is the imperfect subjunctive —the “if this” part.

To form this tense you need to remember the PAST TENSE for
“ellos, Uds.” Then just follow the easy pattern (remember there are some irregulars!)
