| Welcome
to Vol. 45 of the Spanish Online Newsletter! Your weekly Spanish
learning with mp3 files, as well as links to Spanish travel places
and more. I'm sorry but I've been on the move yet again and have not been able to file regular newsletters! This time it's been Alaska, where I was born. There are a lot more Spanish speakers than you'd think up there, as well as some great Mexican restaurants. This week
we tackle another intermediate grammar concept: the imperfect subjunctive.
If This Were to Happen...The Imperfect Subjunctive
This tense works hand in hand with another tense we'll look at next week called the conditional, in order to create situations that can be characterized by “if this, then that.” For example, if I were a bird,I would fly." The first part you need to learn is the imperfect subjunctive —the “if this” part.
