the Spanish Online Newsletter! Part of the Spanish
Learning Blog - your weekly lessons with mp3 files, as well
as links to Spanish travel spots and more. For anyone who had trouble

The e-learning system is coming along nicely, but
is not quite ready for deployment yet. We are integrating virtual
characters that speak Spanish - using new technology that has lifelike
computer generated speech. This can be very handy for language
learning, as the characters can respond to a variety of questions
and commands. I hope to debut this new system sometime before August!
This week we take a look at vocabulary that can help
you find your way in a Spanish speaking country. For those of you
celebrating el Cuatro de Julio this weekend - ¡que
sus fiestas sean felices!
Spanish Directions: Where Do I Go?
Finding your way in a Spanish speaking location can
be a real adventure, as they often talk very FAST and words that
sound similiar can have very different meanings - such as "derecho"
which means straight, and "la derecha" which
means the
right. You
might encounter something like "da la vuelta a la derecha
y sigue derecho media cuadra" - turn right and keep
going straight half a block. Spoken in rapid fire that can
be pretty confusing! Memorizing the words below can help get you
off on the right foot.
